We just returned from lovely Nauvoo :) It is SO beautiful as you will see below. We woke up bright and early Saturday morning to catch our flight to Minneapolis, and then ran to our connecting flight to happenin' Cedar Rapids. My parents and my little brother were already visiting my sister and her family in Omaha and they started driving to Nauvoo Saturday morning, picked up Dave and I at the airport in Cedar Rapids, and then we all finished up the drive to Nauvoo. It was such a fun trip. There is a lot to see and we highly recommend it! We missed you Kees and Brooke!
The BEAUTIFUL Nauvoo Temple. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather the entire time. It was so pretty. I don't know if I would've been strong enough to leave such a beautiful place like they were.
Some of the fam after a tasty buffet in downtown Nauvoo...Kael is a little upset aboout something...
The next day after church we drove over to Carthage Jail. It is such an amazing spiritual experience. They take you on a tour of the whole jail. It was unbelievable to be in the same place the prophet was. The spirit was so strong.
This is the original door to the room they were in when the mob broke in. You can see the bullet hole in the door.
We also went on a walk down to the banks of the Mississippi River. The water was pretty gross..but the sunset was pretty :)
Me and cute Owen...I swear this lil guy is always this happy :)
We also got to go on a fun wagon ride through the historic town where they tell you all about the different houses and shops.
Crusin in the wagon...
In Old Nauvoo they have a center where you can learn how to do a bunch of different pioneer skills like making bread, weaving, candle making, rope making, and pottery. The next couple pics are of us showing off our pioneer skills.
Kael just hangin out with a Joseph Smith statue...he was so cute. I caught him talking to the statues a few times calling them by name and asking them questions..what a cute boy :)
Me and my love outside the temple. Earlier that day we got the awesome experience of doing baptisms in the temple. It is so beautiful inside.
Thanks for such a fun trip Mom & Dad! We loved it!
